John Guy is Managing Director - Business Development with Mission. He is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with senior executives at money center and regional banks, mortgage companies, investment banks, consumer finance firms, bankruptcy trustees and government agencies. Mr. Guy has over 18 years of experience in commercial and residential mortgage secondary marketing. Mr. Guy initially worked with Mission and its principals from 2001 to 2005 as a Senior Vice President of Business Development, sourcing over $7 billion of residential loan sale advisory assignments.
From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Guy worked for an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group and Security National on the principal side of the business, originating high-yield commercial debt and acquiring distressed residential mortgage loan portfolios. In late 2007, Mr. Guy rejoined Mission to further expand the firm’s business development efforts for residential loan sale advisory assignments. Before initially working with Mission, Mr. Guy was a Director of Finance and Business Development with Ocwen Financial Corporation, responsible for business development and acquisitions for both commercial and residential non-performing loans and servicing rights. During his seven year tenure at Ocwen, Mr. Guy acquired nearly $4 billion of commercial and residential distressed mortgages and subprime residential mortgage servicing rights.
Mr. Guy also worked at Bankers Trust Company where he was he was in charge of purchasing distressed commercial loan portfolios. Mr. Guy began his career with Bank of America, originating commercial loans and auditing existing credit exposure. Mr. Guy graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with concentrations in finance and real estate.
